NSE presented the poster Porous pavement as a stormwater management technique for a LEED® green build project in the Onondaga Lake TMDL watershed at the 8th Annual Symposium on Environmental & Energy Systems presented by the Syracuse Center of Excellence. OnCenter, Syracuse, New York. September 29 & 30, 2008.
In cooperation with the Syracuse Center of Excellence NSE sponsored a booth at the "Sustainably Energizing New York's Creative Core" conference (see photo below) held at the Onondaga County Convention Center, July 17-18, 2008.

In December 2007, the AIA added sustainability goals to the code of ethics governing its members' conduct. Among the goals are those relating to sustainable design and sustainable develoment. AIA's 2007 contract forms also require architects to address the feasibility of incorporating environmentally responsible design approaches.
In May 2007, Kyle E. Thomas, P.E., Principal of NSE, was named an associate of Water Resources Associates (WRA), specialty world-wide consultants offering analytical, modelling and software development skills for hydrology, water resources, groundwater and water quality investigations.
